The Pond

The Pond – Acrylic Painting by Marion Schmidtke

Acrylic on canvas | 160 x 160 cm | Original / Unique Piece

Discover "The Pond," a monumental masterpiece of meditative depth and poetic color power by artist Marion Schmidtke. Abstract expressionism meets contemporary nature abstraction – tranquility and dynamic vitality in perfect balance.

The Artwork:

True to its title, the work instantly evokes associations with a mysterious, dusky water surface, reflecting nature and soft sky light. The brushwork masterfully alternates between powerful, dynamic movements and gentle, mist-like flowing glazes. Expertly placed light pink and white highlights break through the cool color composition, giving the painting a fascinating three-dimensionality – almost as if looking through clear water into the depths or observing the shimmering play of light and shadow in the reeds.
