This work, executed in mixed media, presents an abstracted coastal landscape. The composition is dominated by the deep blue expanse of the sea in the foreground, which acquires a tactile texture through vertical and horizontal scratch marks. In the upper third, bright, impasto cloud formations contrast with a dark sky. A series of bright, almost luminous cliffs marks the horizon line and separates the dynamic sea from the upper half of the picture. The lower section displays dark, almost chaotic structures with accents of ochre and white, reminiscent of churning shallows or an abstract representation of the seabed. The expressive use of color and the gestural brushwork place the work within the tradition of Abstract Expressionism or the informal painting of the post-war period.
