About the artwork

"Medusas" is a captivating representational-abstract acrylic painting that captures the mysterious beauty of floating jellyfish. The work depicts the elegant sea creatures in their fleeting grace – luminous and gently suspended between movement and stillness, poetic and unattainable in their ephemeral beauty.

With this extraordinary jellyfish painting, Marion Schmidtke has created a snapshot – a fleeting glimpse of marine creatures whose ephemeral beauty appears poetic and unattainable. Her characteristic painting technique using transparent acrylics lends the jellyfish a special luminosity and depth, transporting the viewer to a dreamlike underwater world.

"Listen in the silence to living forms, to their rhythmic and musical nature – for things have their own specific sound, and this is the message that shines through in all my works." – Marion Schmidtke

Perfect for your home

With its generous square format of 160 x 160 cm, "Medusas" is an impressive eye-catcher for spacious living rooms, offices, medical practices, or hotel lobbies. The vibrant colors and the floating lightness of the jellyfish create a meditative atmosphere and bring maritime elegance to any room – ideal for lovers of animal depictions, marine art, and abstract nature painting.
