Long Breath – Oil and Acrylic Paintings by Ute Kleist

Oil and acrylic on canvas | 100 x 100 cm

Discover "Long Breath," a monochrome masterpiece by artist Ute Kleist. A journey to the inner core – contemplation, trust, and unyielding perseverance in black and white.

The Artwork:

In stark yet sensitive black-and-white contrasts, we encounter a woman in a moment of deepest introspection. Her closed eyes and hand placed on her chest signal contemplation, trust, and – true to the title – unyielding perseverance. The work is rich in symbolic details: the filigree patterned bandana contrasts with the almost punk attitude of the spikes on her shoulder. The tattoos on her hand – "LOVE," a peace sign, flowers, and the watch on her wrist – intertwine themes such as time, values, and transience. The white dove, hovering like a spirit over her shoulder, adds a note of hope and spiritual freedom to the composition. Kleist uses the combination of oil and acrylic to create an impressive tactile depth.
