In the new series "Wishful Minds", the artist uses lithographs made by Moritz Rugendas in Brazil in 1823 as a basis, combining them with animals she saw in Africa, as well as with photographs of palm leaves.
Brazil is deeply rooted and connected with Africa, not only ethnologically but also geologically. This is how the new photo compositions were created, suggesting a longing of animals for untouched nature.
The works are carefully printed on fabric and stretched on wooden frames to convey a certain warmth. The works are available in various sizes.
The work is limited to 30 copies; a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity is included.
