From Quantum Leap to Art: Physicist, Photographer, and Painter
The Cologne-born artist initially worked in physics research in Berlin, focusing intensively on quantum theory. In 1993, Dr. Regina Geisler embarked on a new artistic path, completing professional photography training in Berlin. Her works were exhibited there in significant exhibitions, including the contemporary documentation "Traces of War in Berlin, 50 Years Later" at the Federal Agency for Civic Education.
Over the years, free painting increasingly gained importance alongside photography in her work, until she fully concentrated on painting from 2013 onwards.
Studio in Hamburg Harbor and Artistic Focus
In 2007, Regina Geisler moved to Hamburg, where she initially worked at the renowned Hamburg creative center Koppel66. Since 2010, her studio has been located directly in Hamburg Harbor. The immediate proximity to the water, the dynamics of the harbor, and free abstract forms and color worlds now form the core of her paintings.
Her works are characterized by:
- Maritime & Hamburg Harbor Motifs: Atmospheric impressions from Hamburg Harbor.
- Abstract Painting: Multi-layered color worlds and free compositions.
- Photographic Precision: A feel for light, space, and structure due to her photographic background.
