The Poetry of the North and the Moment in Nature

Capturing nature in all its facets, moods, and moments of light on canvas – this is the central aim of North German artist Britta Kröger. Growing up and living in the vast land between the seas, she finds her main inspiration in the surrounding landscape: from the rugged beauty of the North Sea to the gentle coasts of the Baltic Sea and the maritime scenery of Hamburg's Elbe River. But also local forest and meadow landscapes, bathed in special sunlight, repeatedly captivate her.


Another important focus in Britta Kröger's work lies in sensitive animal portraits, in which she brings out the essence and character of her subjects with palpable empathy.


Style & Painting Technique

Britta Kröger's works are predominantly executed in high-quality acrylic paint on canvas. Her paintings are characterized by a clear compositional structure, vibrant color contrasts, and a fine sense for light atmospheres. As the side edges of the canvases are always carefully designed, the unique pieces can be hung directly without an additional frame.

Artistic Career & Awards

Drawing and painting have been Britta Kröger's constant companions since her youth. In addition to targeted artistic training – including art classes with Tanja Gott – she has largely acquired her technical precision and characteristic style through self-study. Since 2018, she has been an active member of Kunstkreis Norderstedt e.V.

Her artistic quality was recognized internationally early on:

  • 1st Prize Landscape (Beginner Category): Artists Network Annual Competition (2017)
  • Semifinalist: Swissartexpo / Artbox.project (2019) with the work "Rooster in Sunlight"
